Description

**As of January 8, 2024, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid.** In general, the project consists of removing the existing breeching for the two boilers located in the boiler room of Pump Building No. 1 and furnishing and installing new breeching, supports and all accessories necessary for operation at the Bergen County Utilities Authority (BCUA) Wastewater Plant in Little Ferry, New Jersey as specified herein. The breeching to be installed under this Contract shall meet the performance standards as outlined in the bid documents. Contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment included in disconnecting and removing the existing units. C. It is the intent of these Specifications and Contract Drawings for the Contractor to furnish and install the new breeching completely, which includes all the necessary improvements as set forth in the Contract Documents. The Scope of Work below outlines the general items and distribution of work and shall not be construed as being all inclusive. The work of this project consists of the following: A. Furnish and install two (2) boiler breechings, including removal of existing breeching, permitting, furnish new materials including supports and installation of new breeching including all cleanup and restoration. B. Contractor shall be responsible for all post installation testing to document and certify compliance with the performance specifications. Refer to the Contract Drawings for details pertaining to the demolition of the existing breeching and the new breeching layout, dimensions, and materials. 2.02 Material Storage Area: A material storage area for the Contractor's use shall be coordinated with the Owner. Contractor is responsible for securing his work area and stored equipment. Contractor shall coordinate with all other work that may be under construction at the plant. All material shall be stored in methods to maintain the integrity of the existing materials. 2.03 The above Scope of Work outlines the general items and distribution of work and shall not be construed as being all inclusive. 2.04 The Contractor shall obtain permission of the Owner prior to removing any equipment from service for performance of the work required under this Contract.
