Description | The County intends to extend water service along Stack Road for the purpose of serving the existing Stack Road Volunteer Fire Department (VFD). The new water main is proposed to begin at an existing water main dead-end location just north of the intersection with Mount Pleasant Church Road and extend approximately 7,100 feet north along Stack Road and terminating at the VFD. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, with additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form. This public bid opening will be conducted outdoors, in the front entrance area of the Union County Government Center address listed above. If you plan to attend the bid opening, social distancing rules apply. *On September 8, beginning at 1:30 PM local time, bids will be received by the Union County Procurement Department at the bid opening location, outdoors in the front entrance area of the Union County Government Center at 500 North Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Upon request of the document indicated above, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via email. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by McKim & Creed will be considered the Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be made available. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted in writing via email to Corey Brooks at corey.brooks@unioncountync.gov. The Procurement representative will secure applicable answers from McKim & Creed, Inc. and/or Union County staff accordingly. If needed an addendum will be issued. Bidders must have a license to do work as a general contractor in the State of North Carolina, as set forth under Article 1 of Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. The Contractor's North Carolina License number shall be designated on the outside of the envelope containing the bid. Bidders are required to comply with the non-collusion requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Union County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Union County encourages good faith effort outreach to Minority Businesses (HUB Certified) and Small Businesses. |
