Replacement of Fire Station Kitchen Countertops at Four Fire Stations

To replace aged kitchen countertops at one facility of the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services. A. Remove the aged laminated counter tops. Removal and disposal of the existing counter tops will be the responsibility of the Contractor. The owner will be responsible for removing any plumbing or electrical components that would hinder the removal or installation of the countertops. NOTE: The facility will remain occupied and fully operational during the replacement of the counter tops. B. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to keep dust contained to the kitchen area. C. Provide and install new solid surface counter tops and back splash as specified. A product of equal or higher quality must be pre-approved prior to acceptance of bid. i. Product: Wilsonart solid Surface or Dupont Corian ii. Color: colors shall be selected from Manufacturer’s full range of colors by GCFES Facilities designee iii. Edging: Standard Round over D. Use adequate numbers of skilled workers who are thoroughly trained and experienced in the necessary crafts and who are completely familiar with the specified requirements and the methods needed for proper installation and performance of the work for this job. E. Provide other materials not specifically described but required for a complete and proper installation as selected by the Contractor subject to approval of the Owner. Work to be performed four locations below: 1. Gwinnett Fire Station #5 2. Gwinnett Fire Station #18 3. Gwinnett Fire Station #11 4. Gwinnett Fire Station #24
