Description

For Material Purchase Little Choctawhatchee WWTP Outfall Erosion Control. The manufacturer shall provide the design of the concrete erosion control armor assemblies to include drawings and specifications for installation in accordance with the site information provided by the Owner and information gathered during site visits. Each bidder is required to visit the project location prior to bid to familiarize themselves with site conditions. Bidders shall determine and recommend any site work/restoration that may be required to improve performance of the erosion control armor units. Photographs of the site are located in the Appendix. The manufacturer shall furnish all concrete erosion control armor units, geotextile fabric, cabling, delivery to the jobsite, and technical assistance as needed in accordance with this specification and the bid documents. All other questions, to include specifications or technical information, please contact the City Department that is requesting the bid. All bidders must use our bid form and show on the OUTSIDE of the envelope the bid number, item, department, opening date and State of Alabama General Contractors License Number, when applicable. FAXED or EMAILED bids will not be accepted. Any bid received after the bid opening date and time will not be opened or considered. Pertinent questions concerning the bid and specifications should be directed in writing to the Purchasing agent and will be addressed in a timely manner. Any mandatory Pre-bid conferences will be held at the location indicated on the bid invitation. The City of Dothan is located in the central time zone. Late bids cannot be considered. If your bid is a NO BID, please indicate it on the outside of your mailing envelope. Provide an original of the entire bid (all pages) (unless noted otherwise). Bids submitted without all pages will be rejected. Bidding companies may send their bids by email to a local courier service or printing company, and that company can print the bid, prepare the sealed bid envelope, including all required information, and deliver the bid to the City of Dothan Purchasing Agent on time, by the bid invitation date and deadline indicated on the invitation to bid, for a fee to be paid by the bidding company. Bids shall not be emailed or faxed to any city employee. The City of Dothan shall bare no responsibility for the delivery of bids by a third party engaged by the bidding company. The City of Dothan provides equal opportunities for all businesses and does not discriminate against any vendor regardless of race, color, creed, sex, national origin, or handicap in consideration for an award. All bids shall be typewritten or in ink on the form(s) prepared by the City. Bids prepared in pencil will not be accepted. All proposals must be signed by officials of the corporation or company duly authorized to sign bids. Any bid submitted without being signed will automatically be rejected. Bids shall be only bound in a manner easy to take apart to be scanned. The City of Dothan reserves the right to request a demonstration of any and all items bid before making the award. The City of Dothan gives a 3% preference based on cost to local vendors in the award of bids for personal property. This local preference shall be given to vendors who have a City of Dothan business license and a place of business located within the city limits of Dothan. The physical address given on the bid submission sheet will be the address used to determine whether or not the 3% local preference shall apply. Please indicate the companys physical address on the first page of the bid documents. Bidders shall include a copy of their City of Dothan business license with their bid to be considered for the local bidder preference. Preference only applies to purchase of tangible personal property and not contracts involving materials and services (construction, demolition, services or professional services). AGs Opinion # 92-198. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all items covered in the request, or any portion(s) thereof: waive formalities, re-advertise and/or take such other steps decreed necessary and in the best interest of the City. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals within a bid when they are deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
