Description

The City of Littleton Public Works is concentrating on upgrading failing infrastructure, including numerous street surfaces. This project consists of removing and replacing the damaged concrete pavement, estimated to be 10” thick, and replacing with full depth concrete. Areas that require additional subgrade work will be excavated and replaced with Aggregate Base Course, Class 6. East of Polo Ridge Drive, there is a low point in the Mineral Avenue profile with two existing Type R Inlets. The contractor will remove both 5’ wide inlets and replace with 10’ wide Type R inlets. At the outlet end of the pipe run, the existing Flared End Section will be removed, and a new concrete headwall will be installed. As a separate project schedule, the City plans to relocate the pedestrian crossing at Polo Ridge Drive to the west to improve sight lines. The work involves constructing curb bulb outs, concrete curb ramps, sidewalk, median cover, and pavement marking. It is anticipated that it will require approximately 4,256 SY of pavement repair and 640 LF of curb replacement. Other anticipated work includes signage, striping, removal and replacement of damaged and/or non-compliant ADA accessible concrete curb ramps, and subgrade repairs where deemed necessary by the Engineer.
