Description

Taylor School District will be receiving sealed bids for "Asbestos Abatement Prior to Demolition at Taylor Kennedy High School and Board of Education Building". These projects will be completed in April 2023, prior to scheduled demolition of each building and will include the removal of all identified asbestos materials in each building. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn statement, in accordance with MCL 380.1267, disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner(s) or any employee of the bidder and any member of the Board of Education of the School District or the Superintendent of the School District. All bids shall be accompanied by a sworn statement, in accordance with MCL 129.313, certifying that the bidder is not an Iran linked business. The Board of Education shall not accept a bid that does not include sworn and notarized copies of the familial relationship disclosure statement and affidavit of compliance with the Iran Sanction Act. Taylor School District reserves the right to reject any or all bids either in whole or in part or to waive any informalities or irregularities that may be in the best interest of the School District. Kennedy High School includes the removal and disposal of all asbestos flooring materials, including all asbestos floor tile and non-asbestos carpet materials, all asbestos thermal system insulation materials, including all asbestos duct insulation, all asbestos tank insulation, all asbestos greenhouse planter panels, all asbestos lab countertops, all asbestos safe door gaskets, all tagged fire doors and tagged fire door frames from throughout the building. The project will include, but is not limited to, the entire interior of the building. These projects at John F. Kennedy High School will involve multiple negative pressure enclosures to remove the asbestos materials using Class I and Class II removal procedures. The project will begin on Monday, April 10, 2023, and will be complete with all abatement activities, including tear down activities, by the end of the work day on Saturday, April 29, 2023. The project schedule allows for a total of eighteen (18) work days (Monday-Saturday, MondaySaturday, Monday-Saturday) to complete the project. Building(s): John F.
