Senior Center Electric Service Replacement

The existing electrical service is an underground connection between an Eversource vault on the corner of Greenwich Avenue and Havemeyer Place and the Greenwich Senior Center electrical room on the ground floor. During the construction of the new accessible ramp, it was discovered that the existing underground service conduit and wiring is in very poor condition and requires replacement. Three (3) new 4” rigid conduits were installed in anticipation of changing the service connection. Due to the age and placement of the existing switchgear in the building, the Town is issuing this RFB to replace said existing switchgear with new switchgear and to install a new service connection to the building. The new electric switchgear shall be installed along the inside front foundation wall in the same room it is currently located. Based on the building’s current electric usage, the service should be downgraded from the existing 120/208 volt, 3 phase 1,200 amps service to 120/208 volt, 3 phase 800 amps
