Description

This project will consist of the construction of a new Industrial Building, creation of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Range and the addition of a new Parking area. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference. Project is estimated to be in the $5,000,000-$6,000,000 range. The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC), on behalf the Technical College System of the State of Georgia , and West Georgia Technical College, ("WGTC") is seeking Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing design professional services for a project known as Project WGA Industrial Bldg Murphy Waco, at West Georgia Technical College in Waco, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify the most qualified potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms which respond to this RFQ, and who are determined by the Owner to be especially qualified, may be deemed eligible and may be invited to offer proposals for these services. The RFQ/RFP can be downloaded here, from the Georgia Procurement Registry by selecting the Documents tab above. Interested firms should continue to check this site for project updates. The design will locate a new building (Approximately 20,000 - 30,000 SF) adjacent to the large parking lot located behind the present buildings and close to the current truck driving range. Current plans are to locate three programs in this building, welding, commercial truck driving, and the lineman program. The new building should complement the current building structures while providing the capability for future expansion. Cost is critical and the college is supportive of a pre-engineered building. The welding lab will support 40 Clean-Air welding booths, testing area, classroom, two offices, toolroom, locker room, and provide an outside grinding area. The CDL and Lineman areas will each provide a classroom, two offices, storage, and a locker room. The building will include a break area, bathrooms, community space, and work room. Plans should also include the expansion of the current CDL range to provide a welllit CDL range (300 x 400) with canopy structure (40 x 70) to provide nighttime CDL classes. The preliminary stated (construction) cost limitation (SCL) for the Project is estimated to be in the $5,000,000- $6,000,000 range. The final SCL may differ due to actual program requirements, funding, and other circumstances *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
