Description

**As of June 7, 2022, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid.** Borough of Hawthorne is soliciting bids for the installation of new light fixtures for the library. The Contractor shall furnish and install new light fixtures. The contractor shall be responsible for integration of new control system. The work to be performed under this contract includes the following: The Contractor shall furnish and install new light fixtures. The contractor shall be responsible for integration of new control system. The Contractor shall install a 2 x 2 acoustic ceiling in place of the existing spline ceiling. All work is to be inspected by a representative of the Engineer. The Contractor shall notify the Engineer of any work requiring inspection 72 hours prior to commencing the work. Principal items of work in the project include: Base: L.S. Furnish and Install Light Fixtures and Control System in Area 1 and Asymmetric Uplight Fixture V in Area 2 as seen on Pages 4 and 6 of the Plans. L.S. Furnish and install 2 x 2 Acoustic Ceiling to replace existing spline ceiling as seen on page 5 of the plans. Contractor to be responsible for relocation of fire alarms, sprinklers, and other. Alternate 1: L.S. Furnish and Install Light Fixtures and Control System in Area 2 as Seen on Page 6 of the Plans. Alternate 2: L.S. Furnish and Install Light Fixtures and Control System in Area 3 as Seen on Page 7 of the Plans. The work contemplated under this Contract shall be completed within 250 days of notice to proceed. Each bid must be made upon the prescribed forms, furnished with the Contract Drawings and Specifications, including the non-collusion affidavit and ownership statement compliance form. Each bid must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety and a certified check, cashiers check, or Bid Bond of not less than ten percent of the amount bid and, not to exceed $20,000.00. Such checks and Bonds shall be made payable to the Owner and will be held as a Guarantee that in the event the Bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract shall be duly executed and its performance properly secured. The successful bidder shall furnish and deliver to the Owner a performance and payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid amount as security for the faithful performance and payment of the Contract. Further, the successful bidder must furnish the policies or Certificates of Insurance required by the Contract. In default thereof, said checks and the amount represented thereby will be forfeited to the aforesaid Owner as liquidated damages. Bids must be accompanied, in the case of corporations not chartered in New Jersey, by proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. All corporations and partnerships must comply with Chapter 33, of the P.L. of 1977, regarding disclosure of partners and stockholders. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of prevailing wage rates as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor. All bids shall be irrevocable, not subject to withdrawal and shall stand available for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or irregularities in the bids received and to accept the bid from the lowest responsible bidder.
