Description | The Work for which Bids are asked includes the following: Contract No. 1 - Ditching of approximately 16,000 linear feet along South Shore Road, by moving material (approximately 9,500 cubic yards) within the site, shaping of the ditches on both sides of the road, installation of Class III Type D turf reinforcement mat, driveway culvert installation, erosion control, and traffic control. Contract No. 2 - Pulverizing of approximately 20,000 sq. yd. of asphalt pavement, addition of 4-inches of gravel base course, fine grading, HMA asphalt paving, 2-foot gravel shoulders, and traffic control. ALTERNATE A - Install 180 linear feet of 24-inch CMP (3 culverts) with CMP end sections. ALTERNATE B - In lieu of the turf reinforcement mat, install a 4-foot wide, 27-inch layer of riprap. Riprap shall be an equal mixture of Class II and Class III riprap with geotextile fabric. The 2022 South Shore Road Reconstruction is a Town Road Improvement Supplemental (TRIS) project. The TRIS is a component of the Local Roads Improvement Program (LRIP). There is no prevailing wage determination for this project. Bids must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or bid bond equal to five percent of the maximum bid price, payable to the Owner as a guaranty that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract Documents and furnish the required contract security. If the Successful Bidder fails to execute the Contract Documents and provide the required contract security within 15 days after the Notice of Award, the Owner may annul the Notice of Award and the Bid Security will be forfeited. Bids may not be withdrawn within 60 days after the date of the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, and to award the Contract to the Bidder, who in the judgment of the Owner, will best serve the interest of the Owner.
