Construction Services for 147 West 47th Street and 49th and Wentworth Street - Gate Replacement

A. Remove all existing gates. B. Furnish and install new: o Gate panels. o Hysecurity Swingriser, heater and vehicle detector o Photo electric device and amber strobe beacon o Heavy Duty Sawcut Vehicle Detector Loop o Miscellaneous anchors, wires and fittings o New electric and hydraulic cable should be installed. PVC coated rigid pipe will be used for all exposed pipe. Underground pipe will be PVC. C. All work-related material shall be removed from work site and disposed of at contractor's expense. D. Contractor will be responsible for ALL necessary permits to complete the scope of work. Replacement of the two sets of gates with new gate panels equipped with high security opening mechanisms with control panels, photo eyes and strobes, new controllers, new wire heaters, new hydraulics and new vehicle detector loops. The installation of these high security gates will provide the safety and security required for this location that is so important for the operation ofMetra's Rock Island District commuter railroad. Metra requires replacement of the entry gates and operating mechanisms at the 147 W.47th Street entrance and the 51st and Wentworth entrance. The two entry gates to Metra's47th /49th Street Mechanical Shops are both old and obsolete and the 47th Street gate entrance does not currently open. The gates in the condition they are in do not provide the safety and security that is needed for this important Metra location.
