The deadline for submitting written questions is July 29, 2022 @ 12:00 PM EST. Verbal information obtained otherwise will not be considered in the awarding of the bid. OVERVIEW: Berkeley County is requesting sealed bids from qualified firms for the intersection realignment of Foster Creek Road at Tanner Ford Blvd. in Berkeley County. NOTICE: This solicitation does not commit Berkeley County to award a Contract, to pay any costs incurred in the preparation of a Proposal or to procure or contract for the articles of goods or services. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities, to reject any or all Proposals received as a result of this request, or to cancel in part or in its entirety this Proposal, if it is in the best interest of the County to do so. BONDS: Bids in excess of $100,000.00 will require a 5% Bid Bond. BONDS: Required; amount. When a construction contract is awarded in excess of $100,000.00, the following bond or security shall be delivered to the county and shall become binding on the parties upon the execution of the contract: Performance bond. A performance bond satisfactory to the county, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in this state or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the county, in an amount equal to 100 percent of the price specified in the contract; and Payment bond. A payment bond satisfactory to the county, executed by a surety company authorized to do business in this state or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory to the county, for the protection of all persons supplying labor and materials to the contractor or its subcontractors for the performance of the work provided for in the contract. The bond shall be in amount equal to 100 percent of the price specified in the contract.
