Description

The scope of the work generally includes the rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of approximately 55 existing manholes located at several locations within the Peters Creek Sanitary Authority Service Area. This Manhole Improvements Project generally includes: excavation; removal and replacement of frames, covers, riser rings, and pavement rings; removal and replacement of existing barrel sections and donuts (select manholes only); reconstruction of manholes to existing grade; backfill; pavement restoration; and all necessary labor, materials, and appurtenances for said construction. All work shall be performed according to bid requirements, Contract Drawings and Specifications which are on file at the office of the Peters Creek Sanitary Authority and Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering, Inc.; 846 Fourth Avenue; Coraopolis, Pennsylvania 15108-1522. Any questions on ordering the bid documents are to be directed to Haus Printing at 412-231-7700 or printshop@hausprinting.com. Any technical questions regarding the bid documents are to be directed to LSSE (412-264-4400, Ext. 212). Proposals must be upon the forms furnished by the Authority. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the Peters Creek Sanitary Authority to guarantee the bidder's entrance into the contract if awarded the bid. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any applicable municipal ordinances or resolutions. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for ninety (90) calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. The Authority shall (a) award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder, or (b) reject all bids received within ninety (90) days after bid opening. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
