Description | Installation of A Heavy-Duty Slide Gate Fence Line Modification for the Danville Regional Airport. Acquisition and Installation of a Heavy-duty Slide Gate, Fence Line Modifications, Removal of Existing Turnstile and Cut Asphalt for Ground Loop Installation for the Danville Regional Airport. Proposed materials and requirements include the following: Replace existing sliding gate located on the north side of the Danville Regional Airport Terminal Building and install a new heavy duty black anodized sliding gate that provides an eighteen-foot wide opening. To support this project, an existing turnstile and frame will be removed, and fence line modifications completed. 1. Remove existing slide gate as shown in the image identified below 2. Remove existing turnstile as shown in the image identified below 3. Remove frame located above the gate that supports access to the existing turnstile 4. Install anodized black heavy-duty single slide gate that supports an 18’ wide opening and meets the following specifications: The frame should be fabricated from aluminum alloy extrusions with primary members (top and bottom) rectangular in shape with a cross section not less than 2” x 5”. Vertical members at the ends of the frame should have a cross section of no less than 2” x 2”. Intermediate vertical members to be 1” x 2” in cross section. The frame should be supported from the track of extruded aluminum ally by two self-aligning, 4-wheeled, sealed lubricant, ball bearing truck assemblies. 5. Cut asphalt near existing concrete pad so a security contractor can install the ground loop for the new gate operator. 6. Install necessary terminal fence posts for the new gate to support an 18’ wide opening. |
