Description | Boiler Replacement The University of Texas at Austin wishes to demolish two existing 1945 vintage, 75,000 lb/hr steam boilers and replace them with two new 175,000 lb/hr steam boilers inside the Hal C. Weaver Power Plant on the main campus of the University of Texas at Austin. Major scope elements will include all necessary hazardous material abatement and disposal, selective demolition and associated disposal, procurement and installation of equipment, including but not limited to new boilers, associated piping, electrical gear/equipment, electrical feeders, controls, instrumentation, controls programming, and emissions monitoring and control systems. The planned boiler system replacement is expected to be "business as usual," meaning that the aim is to renew the steam system while maintaining UEM's high level of standards, improving overall efficiencies of the existing system and safely constructing the new systems with minimal impact to existing campus utility operations. The installation of the new boilers and associated systems must be carefully planned and must interface with existing piping and other utility infrastructure. All utility connections must be coordinated to minimize impact to existing electrical and steam generation systemsthatserve 100% of the energy needs of the entire main campus. The project shall be broken up into two phases with two (2) separate GMPs. The CM-R will work with the Architect/Engineer to ensure successful completion and delivery of project in accordance with University requirements. The preliminary CCL for the Project is $33,000,000. The scope of the work shall include providing services described herein in cooperation with the Owner and Architect/Engineer of Record to supply a fully tested, commissioned, and functional installation per the contract documents.
