Description | The City of Grenada is soliciting bids for three (3) homeowner housing units that will be demolished and rebuilt with the city's HOME rehab grant program Inquires should be directed to Lakeylah White, Project Administrator, at (601) 658-8654. Any contractor wishing to bid must complete and have on file the Qualifications of the General Contractor Form which is included in the bid packet and a current Mississippi Contractors License. Bidders shall submit a bid for the cost of construction. All bidders shall know that the City of Grenada shall accept the lowest and best bid. Bidders must comply with Section 3 of the HUD ACT of 1968, the Anti Kickback Act, the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, and the Presidents Executive Order No. 11246. The City of Grenada is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The City of Grenada encourages Minority-owned Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Woman-owned Business Enterprises (WBEs) to submit bids. The City of Grenada also encourages Section 3 eligible businesses to submit proposals. Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended (12 U.S.C. 17010) requires, to the greatest extent feasible, that the City of Grenada and its contractors that participate in the above referenced Program give opportunities for job training and employment to lower incomes residents of the City of Grenada. Section 3 also requires that contracts for work in connection with the Section 3 area be awarded to qualified Section 3 eligible business concerns, whenever possible.
