| Description | The project includes but not limited to: to improve water quality discharges to the Everglades Protection Area by helping to balance flows and loads to meet the Water Quality Based Effluent Limit (WQBEL) that would achieve compliance with the State of Florida`s numeric phosphorous criterion in the Everglades Protection Area (EPA), while minimizing implementation costs to the extent possible. During standard operations, the spreader canals cells distribute water internally to sheet flow across the treatment cells and into to the collector canals. Generally, the performance of this standard operation will be improved by the reconfiguration of treatment cells achieved by the relocation and/or removal of levees and by the regrading of areas within the cells. |
