Description | The scope of this project will focus on two of these facilities, the P.W Swann Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and the R.A. Thomas WTP. The P.W. Swann WTP has a maximum treatment capacity of 25 million gallons per day and the R.A. Thomas WTP has a maximum treatment capacity of 18 million gallons per day. Both facilities have large raw water reservoirs that experience algal growth during the summer months which results in particle breakthrough in the filters, tastes and odors. WSFC Utilities is requesting qualifications from engineering firms to perform an evaluation of the existing treatment process at both plants starting at the raw water reservoirs and ending at filtration and propose new/additional treatment strategies to treat these issues in the most cost-effective manner. The selected engineering firm will provide all designs and documents necessary for permitting, construction and bidding resulting from the study. The selected firm will also likely provide construction administration on this project. |
