Description

A. It is the intent of the Owner to enter into separate contracts as follows: Contract No. 1 - General Construction Contract No. 2 - HVAC Construction Contract No. 3 - Plumbing Construction Contract No. 4 - Electrical Construction The Owner may enter into other separate contracts at this or later dates. Bidders shall be aware that the West Deer Township is seeking to obtain LEED Certification for the New Municipal Building under the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Rating System. The West Deer Township is seeking a minimum level of "Certified (40-49 points)" through LEED Version 4.0 (v4) Building Design and Construction (BD + C) New Construction Rating System. All Bidders shall include in their Bids all provisions to meet the requirements set forth in the Contract Documents relative to LEED requirements of the Project. Bidders viewing Contract Documents via Plan Rooms are strongly recommended to notify the Sharon office of HHSDR Architects and Engineers of their intent to bid the project and register their company with HHSDR in order to receive notifications when addendums are issued. Bidders who contact the Sharon office of HHSDR will receive a public link to the Contract Documents. No hard copies will be distributed and no deposit is required. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, Trust Company Treasurer's Check or Certified Check made payable to the West Deer Township in an amount of not less than five percent (5%)of the proposal (including Base Bid and all Add Alternate Bids). Such Bid Bond or Check shall be submitted with the understanding that it shall guarantee that the Bidder's Bid will not be withdrawn for a period of at least sixty (60) days after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids; that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Form of Agreement, as provided by the Owner, with all blanks appropriately filled and will submit the required 100% Performance and Labor and Material Bonds (submitted on A.I.A. Document A312) and 100% Maintenance Bond as specified in Section 007216, Article 11; and that in the event of withdrawal of said Bid within said period, or the failure to enter into said Agreement and submit said Bonds within ten days after the Bidder has received notice of the acceptance of the Bid, the Bidder shall be liable to the above mentioned Owner for the full amount of such Bond or Check as representing the damage to the Owner on account of the default of the Bidder in any particular hereof. The Bid Bond or Check of all Bidders whose Bids are not accepted will be returned within ten calendar days after the scheduled bid opening date.
