Description | The following outline of the principle features of work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the contractor to perform all work and furnish all materials to do a complete job within the intent and scope of the specifications, sketches, drawings and contract. Use of Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) 09 68 00: Air Force Carpet Standard will be used as reference when needed. General construction consists of the following items: 3.1.1. Bldg. 664 Carpet- Contractor shall be responsible for removal of existing flooring i.e. carpet/tile, cove base and install new carpet and cove base, adhesive and floor leveling compound as required. The contractor shall furnish and install approximately 633 SY of carpet tiles with nylon fiber. The carpet will need superior soil resistance and appearance retention as well as the ultimate in styling flexibility. It will have manufacturer continuous filament nylon 6. 6 or nylon 6 with a cross-section modification ratio no greater than 2.5 per UFGS 09 68 00, colors to be selected upon award. There will be no PVC backing. The contractor shall order for an additional 10% in replacement tiles or roll goods to allow cutting and matching of carpet pattern repeats as needed as specified in UFGS 09 68 00. The contractor shall furnish and install approximately 620 LF of 4” rubber cove base, colors to be selected upon award. The contractor shall furnish and install approximately 54 LF of transition strips. VIT lift shall be used on all furniture, cubicles, and any other heavy items in the construction area when applicable. All electronics and personal items will be unplugged and removed by the customer before the project starts. Any carpet removed shall be recycled and a “received” certificate submitted to 60 CES/CEOSS COR Office showing that removed products were not placed in landfills. All work shall be coordinated through Maintenance Engineering. |
