Description | The City of Bangor requests proposals from qualified contractors to install approximately 188 linear feet of 36-inch HDPE storm to replace a failing 36-inch CMP system, as well as an existing ditch and 42-inch CMP driveway culvert. Additional work outlined in Request. Bids may also be submitted via email by using the link at the top of this page or by sending to: bids@bangormaine.gov. If emailing bid, please reference "Mount Hope Avenue Storm Drain Replacement" in the subject line. Bids will be opened by City Staff at the time stated above All questions must be directed in writing to bids@bangormaine.gov no later than 4:30 P.M. on April 12, 2023. The City will issue addenda as necessary in response to any questions or inquiries raised at the pre-bid meeting or submitted in writing All work shall be completed by November 22, 2023. The City of Bangor reserves the right to reject any and all proposals received and to waive any informality, technical defect, or clerical error in any proposal as the interest of the City may require. In addition to the General Qualifications, the following items must be provided: a. Performance and Payment Bond: Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all of the Contractor's obligations under the Contract. Contractor shall obtain the required bonds from the surety companies that are duly licensed or authorized in the jurisdiction in which the Project is located in issue bonds in the required amounts. b. Bid Security: Each bidder must submit with bid a certified check, bid bond or cash in the amount of 5% of his total bid price as his guarantee that the bidder will enter into the Contract, if awarded. Said check, bid bond, or cash will be returned to all except the two (2) lowest bidders immediately following the opening of bids, and the remaining sureties will be returned after the Owner and Contractor have executed the Contract. If the Contract has not been awarded within thirty (30) days of the bid opening the surety will be returned at any time thereafter to any bidder who so requests, so long as they have not been notified of the acceptance of the bid |
