Description

Cut, remove and dispose of the existing water damaged wood gym floor system, approximately 10,000 square feet. The contractor shall provide the appropriate dumpster for initial removal. - Sweep and clean floor then check for level with a laser level. - Inspect and evaluate subfloor and make any or repairs which shall include at a minimum the following: - Cover entire slab with 6 mil polyethylene overlapping joints by 6" and sealing with adhesive. - Lay ActionCush II or equivalent laminated 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 8' sleepers perpendicular to the long direction 12" O.C. - Install first layer of 1/2" Hardwood Premium Subfloor (HPS) sheeting diagonal to the sleepers. - The second layer of 1/2" HPS sheeting shall be laid at a diagonal to the first layer with 1/4" spacing alongside all edges. - Install ActionCush II or equivalent 25/32" x 2.25", 2nd and Btr grade MFMA certified Maple floor. - Sand the entire wood floor to bare wood using coarse, medium and fine sandpaper. - Apply two (2) coats of Sikafloor WP-8.1 or equivalent oil finish using a gym floor applicator. The floor will be screened and cleaned between each coat of finish. - Repaint the game lines as they now exist or in a similar design. - Abrade the paint then apply a third and fourth finish coat of Sikafloor WP-8.1 or equivalent oil finish. - Install ActionCush II or equivalent black vent cove base around the perimeter of the gym floor. - Install aluminum saddles at each of the doorways. - Bleachers are to be detached and reattached as part of the project. - The contractor shall paint all basketball and volleyball game lines, including all keys, logos with lettering similar to the existing lettering.
