Description

The City of Nashua, NH, herein referred to as "the City", is seeking bids from qualified firms for the Siphon Rehabilitation Project. The Project will rehabilitate seven (7) sewer siphons in a variety of measures that include, but are not limited cleaning and installation of approximately 20 feet of sectional CIPP lining within existing 21-inch and 36-inch diameter sewer siphons; cleaning and installation of approximately 2,700 linear feet of manhole-to-manhole CIPP liner within existing 8- to 36-inch diameter sewer siphons; repair a hole in Main Street siphon prior to CIPP; perform testing of CIPP and correct all failures and/or leaks; restore pavement surfaces, curbing, utilities, retaining walls, granite walls, shrubbery, grass, posts, signs, etc. disturbed by project activities; maintain sewage flows during all construction activities; support and protect all exiting utilities in accordance with the requirements of the utility owner within the project work areas; and maintaining sedimentation and erosion control measures during construction. Any contract or contracts awarded under this Advertisement for Bids are expected to be funded in whole or in part by a State Aid Grant (SAG) from the NH Department of Environmental Services. Please Note: There are no Minority and Women's Business Enterprises (MBEs and WBEs), American Iron and Steel (AIS), or Davis-Bacon requirements on this project. Deadline for Bidder Questions Tuesday, June 28, 2022, 10:00am Answers to Bidder Submitted Questions Tuesday, July 05, 2022 at 4:00pm. Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price The successful Bidder must furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 10 days following notification of the acceptance of their Bid. Completion times for the project will be as follows: **Substantial Completion shall be 182 calendar days from issuance of "Notice to Proceed". **Final Completion shall be 212 calendar days from issuance of "Notice to Proceed". **Liquidated damages of $1,500 for each calendar day will be assessed for delays beyond the established dates for Substantial Completion and Final Completion. Pursuant to NRO 5-71 (A), the City of Nashua supports the concept of purchasing products which are biodegradable, can be or have been recycled, or are environmentally sounds. Due consideration will be given to the purchase of such products. If you are proposing any such products which qualify, please so indicate in a cover sheet by item number and description. We are also conscious of energy use and encourage Bidders to propose products that are energy efficient. Bids must be submitted in the format provided and address the items specified in this request. The City may reject any or all of the bids on any basis and without disclosure of a reason. The failure to make such a disclosure shall not result in accrual of any right, claim or cause of action by any unsuccessful bidder against The City. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities when the public interest will be served thereby. The City also reserves the right to negotiate any change or amendment in any bid without soliciting further requests for bids if the action is necessary for the best interest of The City.
