Bonds required by this section shall be made payable to the City and shall be filed with the City of Danville Inspections Division. In lieu of a performance or payment bond required by this section, a contractor may furnish a certified check or cash escrow in the face amount required for the bond, such check to be returned or destroyed at the conclusion of the retainage period or when final asbestos removal is certified by inspections department.
