Description | The Treasurer wishes to contract for nine mows per year for all (vacant and with structures) properties within the Kalamazoo County limits, most within the City of Kalamazoo. It is anticipated that the number of properties will initially be within a range between 25 and 100. The number and exact addresses of the properties change throughout the mowing season, related to the auction schedule, a reduction in properties is anticipated after the Treasurer’s auction. For each round of mowing, the contractor will be given an Excel spreadsheet of all property addresses to mow. Contractor will be kept updated on the properties to be mowed as the list changes. The contractor will bid on a price per parcel mowed for properties between 0 and .5 acres, and for properties that are .5 acres and larger. The majority of the mow list will be for properties under .5 acres. There is also a price per property for overgrown lots with grass and brush taller than 12 inches that require a brush hog or other special equipment to mow. These properties will be mowed as requested below: Mowing shall include all grassy parts of each property, leaving the property in a clean and orderly state 1. Front, back, and sides of properties with structures 2. Property line to property line for vacant lots Mowing shall include the removal of garbage and brush (equivalent to roughly 3-5 standard yard waste bags) 1. Large items like tires or furniture, or heavy garbage/brush (enough to fill a small truck or trailer load) shall be reported to owner, for removal and are not the responsibility of the mowing contractor. The following is an example of a typical mow schedule (which is subject to change based on weather conditions and needs of the Treasurer) 1. May – Two times 2. June – Two times 3. July – Two times 4. August – One time 5. September – One time 6. October – One time |
