Description

"As of May 12, 2023, the owner has selected a Design Builder. A timeline for construction has not yet been established.” This Request for Qualifications is a solicitation to identify and secure the services of a qualified design-build contracting company that is capable of taking the project from its current point of completed design development to final completion of construction. Work on this project includes light demolition, framing, drywall, plumbing, heating, electric, cabinet and counter installation, finished carpentry, painting and concrete floor restoration and wall and floor finishes. It is the DPWs intent to negotiate and execute a contract with the most advantageous contracting company by March 31, 2023. The current schedule permits a later date for the start of physical work. However, all construction must be completed by December 15, 2023. The Town of Hampton, NH (hereinafter "Town"), acting through its Town Manager for the Hampton Department of Public Works (DPW), in accordance with the provisions of New Hampshire Revised Statutes Annotated Chapter 37, Section 6 and the provisions of the Town's Purchasing Policy and Purchasing Procedures Chapter 718 of the Hampton Code of Ordinances is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from experienced, full-service, design-build contractors to implement and remodel interior areas of the DPW Facility located on Hardardt's Way in Hampton. This Request for Qualifications is a solicitation to identify and secure the services of a qualified design-build contracting company that is capable of taking the project from its current point of completed design development to final completion of construction. Work on this project includes light demolition, framing, drywall, plumbing, heating, electric, cabinet and counter installation, finished carpentry, painting and concrete floor restoration and wall and floor finishes. It is the DPW's intent to negotiate and execute a contract with the most advantageous contracting company by March 31, 2023. The current schedule permits a later date for the start of physical work. However, all construction must be completed by December 15, 2023. The Department of Public Works has secured funding to make modifications to the existing lunchroom, existing men's restroom, and two storage areas such that they become a cohesive, comfortable, and useful area for department employees to eat, clean, train, have meeting space and store uniforms. The project will reconfigure and utilize the existing areas described above, which are all located adjacent to each other, and will result in a larger lunchroom/training/meeting area, counters, cabinets, and appliances for sanitary food preparation, more efficient use of space in the existing men's restroom, creation of a new unisex/ADA-compliant restroom (with shower), and a designated uniform storage area. This project also includes relocation of the existing access to the storage mezzanine area to a new stairway located at the "welders' bay" of the Vehicle Maintenance garage. The DPW has developed a set of design plans and scope of work for remodeling this area. These documents are found as ATTACHMENT A, and ATTACHMENT B and are part of this RFQ. These documents are provided for reference only as to the Town's goal for the project. The successful contractor and Town will value-engineer the overall project to achieve as many aspects of the project that the budget allows. All inquiries regarding the Request for Qualifications, procedure, and any technical aspect of the project may be directed to Joseph Lynch, Deputy Director of Public Works (603) 929-5925 weekdays between the hours of 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, or by e-mail jlynch@hamptonnh.gov Alternative viewing dates may be available up until March 10th by contacting Joseph Lynch at (603) 929-5925. All prospective respondents are encouraged to visit the project area.
