Description

For Bridge Replacement The contract will be awarded (or the bids rejected) at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners within 30 days after the opening of the bids. Douglas County Project 2022-35 consists of removing an existing 2-12 x12 x57.5 RFB and constructing a 36 -48 -36 Reinforced Concrete Haunched Slab (RCHS) Bridge on spread footing piers. Items include Contractor Staking, Clearing & Grubbing, Fence Removal, Grading, Contractor Furnished Excavation, Entrance Pipe, Steel Piling, Resteel, Concrete, Concrete Pavement (10 ), Guardrail, Aggregate Ditch Lining, Rip Rap, Aggregate Base (AB-3), Surfacing Material (AB-3), HMA-Commercial Grade (Class A) for guardrail widening, HMA Base (SR-12.5), HMA Surfacing (SR-12.5), Seeding, and Traffic Control. Project 2022-35 is located on Route 1029 (E550 Road) between N500 and N600 Roads approximately 20 miles southwest of Lawrence, KS. The anticipated Notice to Proceed is April 4, 2023. The late Notice to Proceed is June 12, 2023. This contract is a calendar completion project as stated in Special Provision 15-DG-108. The bid shall contain all information required by the solicitation, priced as required, and submitted no later than the exact opening time and date specified (unless extended by addendum). No other method of submitting bids will be accepted. Each bidder shall be required to deposit with such bidder s bid a CERTIFIED CHECK, CASHIER'S CHECK or a BID BOND for not less than Five Percent (5%) of the base bid as a guarantee that if awarded the Contract, the bidder will enter into a Contract and give bond as required. Said check or bid bond shall be made payable to the Douglas County treasurer. The Board of County Commissioners of Douglas County, Kansas reserves the right to reject nonconforming bids and to waive technicalities, and to award the contract to the bidder which is the lowest responsible bidder.
