Kestrel 19/20 Timber Sale

This sale is for a fourth-row operator select thinning on 138 acres of 27-year-old planted slash pine on Jennings State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755) in Clay County, Florida. Timber to be removed includes every fourth row and select trees in the leave rows to reach a desired basal area of 60-70 square feet per acre. Trees to be removed in the leave rows included diseased, forked or suppressed as well as a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant to reach the target basal area. Trees marked with a yellow band are not to be harvested. The Forester-In-Charge must approve of all skid trails and logging decks. Sale boundaries are roads, fire lines, wetlands or obvious timber type changes. The estimated volume to be cut is 4,430 tons of pulpwood and better. This will be a twelve (12) month contract.
