Description

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Stanwood, Washington. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered. Bids are to be submitted only in the form provided in the Project Manual, and all bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, payable to the ' City of Stanwood" of value not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. The improvements for which bids will be received are described as follows: This storm drainage project. includes the installation of approximately 1400 lineal feet of new 36" and 150 lineal feet of new 48" storm drain with 8 new Type 2 Catch Basins. It also includes roadway improvements with the SR 532 right-of-way such as grading, pavement restoration, curb replacement, sidewalk replacement, traffic control, and erosion control. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $1,100,000 to $1,400,000. All work shall be physically complete within 40 working days of receiving a Notice to Proceed. Time extensions may be granted for rainfall days that prevent work that is already in progress. The City of Stanwood reserves the right to accept a proposal of the lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding. All Bids shall be submitted on the prescribed Bid Forms and in the manner as stated in this Advertisement and m the Project Manual, and said Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid deposit in the form of a cashier's check, postal money order, or Surety bond to the City of Stanwood in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid. If a Surety bond is used, said bond shall be issued by a Surety authorized and registered to issue said bonds in the State ofWashing ton. The bond shall specify the Surety's name, address, contact and phone number, and shall include a power of attorney appointing the signatory of the bond as the person. authorized to execute it. Should the successful Bidder fail to enter into the Contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the Information for Bidders, the Bid deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Stanwood. Faxed Bids and/or Surety' bonds will not be accepted. The City7 of Stanwood in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, subtitle A, Office of the Secretary, Part 21, nondiscrimination m Federally assist-ed programs of the Department of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any Contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises as defined at 49 CFR Part 26 will be afforded full opportunity to submit Bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an Award. The City of Stanwood reserves the right to accept the Bid that is in the best interest of the City, to postpone the acceptance of Bids and the Award of the Contract for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days, or to reject any and all Bids received. Subject to the foregoing, the Bid may be awarded to the lowest responsible Bidder. When awarded the Contract, the successful Bidder shall promptly execute the Contract and shall furnish a bond of faithful performance of the Contract in the full amount of the Contract price. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the outside clearly marked with the Bid opening date and time, the project name as it appears in this Advertisement and the name and address of the Bidder.
