School Street Area Reconstruction - Town of Exeter

This project includes Garfield St, Kossuth St, School St, and Union St (including former Garfield Ct) where water, sewer, drainage, roads, and sidewalks have all been identified as deficient. The water mains in this area are 4-inch and 6-inch cast iron (CI) which have insufficient capacity for fire flows which were identified in the 2015 asset management plan as being a high priority. The sewer mains are 8-inch and 10-inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP) in poor condition and/or undersized. The drainage system has been identified as being in poor condition with the potential for flooding. The roads and sidewalks in this neighborhood are inadequate size and in poor condition. SRF loan pre-applications have been submitted for the project. If selected, ARPA funds may be available. As of November 17, 2022, this project is in the conceptual an engineer has not been selected. This project is included in the Town of Exeter's FY 2023-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). A firm timeline for construction has not been determined. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
