Smithfield High School - Boyle Athletic Field Complex Improvements - Town of Smithfield

The Boyle Athletic Complex improvements work shall include the removal of the existing track assembly and the existing grass football athletic field and replace it with a new synthetic turf athletic field with a synthetic surfaced 6 lane track and an 8 lane straight away. The new field is sized appropriately for all sports currently played on the existing football field including football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey for boy’s and girl’s teams. The existing athletic field lighting shall remain and be reused for the new track and synthetic turf field improvements. New jumping events including triple jump, long jump, pole vault, and high jump, will be provided located outside of the new track just to the southwest, but will remain inside the new athletic complex. The new complex will also include a new ADA compliant home bleacher grandstand and press box as alternates. These items will be located where the existing visitor bleachers are currently located. New athletic field signage, flagpoles (alternate), and a scoreboard (alternate) will be provided around the new athletic field and located for maximum visibility. New portable Visitor bleachers will be provided located where the existing home bleachers are currently located. New 6-foot high black vinyl chain-link fencing and gates will replace the existing perimeter chain-link fencing. New 4-foot high chain-link fencing and gates will also be provided to enclose the new athletic field and track. The sitework will include new walkways, which will allow players, coaches and visitors to access and circulate the site with full accessibility. Several new storage units will be provided and located near the track at the perimeter for ease of access to equipment. Throwing events including discus, hammer, and javelin will be relocated with new equipment to the northeast corner of the high school campus at the existing softball field that will be removed located adjacent to the Pleasant View Elementary school. This will allow for these events to take place safely and efficiently. Question Deadline: May 8, 2023 by 4:00pm.
