Retro-Reflectivity Sign Project for Various City Streets

Contractor to furnish all supervision, traffic control, materials, labor, and tools necessary for replacement of faded, damaged, obstructed, and/or nonstandard traffic signs throughout the City of Chattanooga City will provide the contractor with a tablet loaded with the City’s map based, sign inventory. Contractor will remove signs flagged in the sign inventory for replacement from post, banding, or wire. Removed sign will be returned to the City of Chattanooga Sign Shop at 1010 E 11th Street Chattanooga, TN 37402. Contractor will provide new, 0.080 gauge aluminum, traffic signs meeting design and retroreflectivity requirement per City Standards and the current edition of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Contractor will reattach the new signs using 3” x ¼” carriage bolts and nuts on existing channel posts, 1” x 5/16” hex bolt on existing banding clips, or 5/8” U bolt/ saddle and nuts on span wire. All hardware will be stainless steel; aluminum will be accepted for the post carriage bolts. Contractor will make adjustments to sign supports as needed to meet mountings height requirements with the new signs and clear any obstructions blocking view of the new sign. Contractor will use the City provided tablet to record their work and update sign status in the City’s sign inventory.
