Description

Upgrade and provide access control to the two (2) psychiatric inpatient units (#21 and #22) and its shared Sallyport at the VAMC: Secure Hallway Entrance Door, Unit #21 Door & Unit #22 Door with MagLock and Electric Strike. Sallyport Interlock will secure all three (3) doors. Only one (1) of the three (3) doors will be permitted to open at one time. When one (1) door is open, the other two (2) doors will not be permitted to open. Doors will be secured from both sides of the door, at all times. Access KeySwitch on each side of all three (3) doors. (6 Total) To gain access through any door from either side, staff may use the Access KeySwitch to "UNLOCK" the door for a momentary delay (adjustable). Door will re-secure once delay expires. Staff will no longer use keyed hardware in the door latch sets. Access KeySwitches will Illuminate LEDs to indicate if access is permissible. Red and Green LEDs will match existing LED indicators color scheme. Override KeySwitch on each side of all three (3) doors. (6 Total) Override KeySwitches will have RED cover plates and be mounted adjacent to the Access KeySwitches Any Override KeySwitch will release (unlock) all three (3) doors simultaneously and continuously until manually reset. Disable KeySwitch will disengage the two (2) unit doors to allow both doors to be open at the same time. Hallway door will be secured but may be opened by key. There will be No audible alarm when doors are in override mode. There will be control to the sallyport door from Unit Nurse Stations. Wire mold and surface boxes will be used, as needed. Fire Alarm will disable system and doors may be opened manually by door latch set by key. It should be noted that this contract does not involve access to VA sensitive information and does not involve access and/or connection to the VA information system.
