Description | Contract 2 has been awarded to James H. Maloy, as Jersen withdrew their bid. Contract 1 has been awarded to Rifenburg Construction Inc.." The Project consists of the following Scopes of Work: Contract 1 - General Construction: The project includes relocation of approximately 880 linear feet of new 16-inch transmission main and demolition and removal of existing main under Terminal Reservoir. Dredging of 16,000 cubic yards of Terminal Reservoir to restore the reservoir to its original design capacity. Dredging of approximately 575 linear feet of drainage ditch along George Thompson Rd and restoration thereof. Contract 2 - General Construction: The project includes upgrades and repairs at the Mechanicville Dam Spillway and outlet headwall. Work will include a bypass and dewatering plan, erosion and sediment control, and restorations of the work area. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials. The deminimis and minor components waiver apply to this contract. Pig Iron Waiver - This waiver permits the use of pig iron and direct reduced iron manufactured outside of the United States in domestic manufacturing processes for iron and steel production that are subsequently used in iron and steel products for water and waste projects funded by WEP. Approval of this waiver is supported by Section 746 (b)(2), which allows for a waiver in cases where "...iron and steel products are not produced in the United States in sufficient and reasonably available quantities or of a satisfactory quality." The effective date of this waiver will be retroactive to 5 May 2017. The Work will be substantially completed within __270__ days |
