Description | Colorado School of Mines is seeking design services for a project at the Denver Federal Center (DFC), Building 15, where Mines leases laboratory and office space. Mines performs research that requires use of radioisotopes in the DFC labs. New research activities require improvements to the existing mechanical and electrical systems that serve 5 labs. Modest improvements to finishes in 6 offices is also included. The new work will include replacement of the existing lab exhaust system, new ductwork, fans, HEPA filter, fume hood, electrical convenience power, consideration of an emergency generator, minor drywall and ceiling repairs, office space finishes. The bulk of the work in this solicitation is mechanical. Firms with demonstrated relevant experience, including at least two projects of similar size and complexity, are encouraged to apply. Firms with experience in radiological research ventilation are encouraged to apply. Project delivery method is Design-Bid-Build (DBB). General Requirements - Bidder Prequalification/Preregistration Required Delivery Point Golden, Colorado Cover letter accompanying firm Submittals MUST include the legal name of the firm, address, name of point of contact for the firm, their title and email address. Omission of any of these items could result in firm's submission being non-responsive with no further consideration. Submittals can be no more than 50 pages, front and back, not including cover letter or any tabbing. The selection process involves two (2) steps. Step I is preliminary evaluation of submittals from qualified firms. A short list will be generated after Step I review is completed. Short listed firms will be invited back for Step II evaluation interviews. Award will be made based upon the outcome of Step II evaluations.
