Description

Description: The work to be done, in general consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, services, transportation, and certain materials necessary to clean and paint fire hydrant as indicated in this specifications. The work includes, but not limited to, traffic control, removal and disposal of all grease, oil, loose paint, mill scale, dirt, rust, mold, mildew, mortar, efflorescence, and sealer prior to painting, trimming overgrown vegetation around the fire hydrant as needed, and complete painting of the fire hydrant. Work areas will generally consist of sidewalks and parkways along arterial and residential streets. Some fire hydrants may be located within a commercial area. The City will provide the contractor with location maps showing all the fire hydrants that need to be painted. The contractor is responsible for arranging and planning the route in advance. All excess materials that result from the fire hydrant maintenance services shall be hauled to and disposed at the proper disposal facilities. Contractor shall conform and follow all construction safety guidelines including but not limited to the OSHA safety and health standards and the latest edition of the Work Area Traffic Control Handbook (WATCH) to ensure the safety of the public and its worker.
