Description | Contract Duration: Not to exceed 510 calendar days City of Akron Local Goal: 18% EDGE/DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBE (minimum 3% WBE) All sealed bids should be clearly marked Lock 3 Park Project on the outside of the envelope. Any bids received after the time designated in this advertisement will be returned unopened. Project Description: This project includes furnishing and installing all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals required to construct the new Lock 3 Park including performance pavilion and associated landscape, hardscape, and utilities. The project includes demolition of existing structures/utilities/etc. and construction of the new pavilion, pedestrian bridge, benches, balconies, furnishings, landscape, and appurtenant features. Bidding Documents: Complete sets of Bidding Documents will be issued to Bidders only by AA Blueprint, beginning , at a cost of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00). Checks or Money Orders are to be made payable to AA Blueprint located at 2757 Gilchrist Rd. Akron, Ohio 44305, or can be purchased on their website Bidders are required to use the bidding forms included in the contract/bidding specifications. Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and scope. Bid Bond: Each bidder is required to furnish with his proposal a Bid Guarantee and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. The bid bond may be in the form of a bid guarantee, letter of credit for 100% of the project, or certified check from a solvent bank or cash in the amount of 10% of the total bid submitted. Bid security furnished in Bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide such surety. Checks should be made payable to the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition. Bid guarantees/bid bonds will be returned to all unsuccessful bidders. Bond must be executed on the forms provided in the bidding and contract documents. Standard bonding documents will not be acceptable. Electronic versions of the bidding documents will be provided at no cost to any potential bidder or potential subcontractor by request at The Richard Howe House or Anser Advisory at the above addresses. Questions: All questions concerning the project should be submitted in writing by 1:00 PM March 17th, 2023, to Kathryn DeMuesy at Anser Advisory: kathryn.demuesy@anseradvisory.com Additional Information: All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of the project. Bidders must use the prepared forms provided therefore which include compliance with Section 34.03 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Akron, Ohio regarding public contracts. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor s executive Order of 1972, and Governor s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required. Bidders must comply with the Federal Davis Bacon wage rates on Public Improvements in Summit County and the City of Akron, Ohio. OECC reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities and the right to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. Also, OECC reserves the right to reject the bids of any bidder if OECC believes it would not be in the best interest of OECC to make the award of that bid; whether because the bid is not responsive, or the bidder is unqualified or of doubtful financial ability or fails to meet any other pertinent standards or criteria established by OECC. As of July 6th 2023, a ground-breaking ceremony took place on April 6th and the project is most-likely under construction. A general contractor has been selected. Information regarding an architect has not been released. A firm construction timeline has not been set. |
