Woodford Wastewater Pumping Station Upgrade

The work of constructing the improvements will be let under one (1) Contract, if an award should be made, and the City of Hoover reserves the right to select the Bid considered to be in their best interest. The major items of work to be performed are to include the installation of an 8' diameter precast wetwell complete with dual submersible pumps and a diesel-powered standby pump with suction/discharge piping, reinforced concrete foundation, yard piping, electrical, instrumentation, removal of UST, filling of abandoned drypit underground pumping station enclosure, removal of existing wastewater pump, and all general site work, grading, landscaping, and fencing, according to the Drawings, Specifications, and Contract Documents. All items are to be furnished and installed by the Contractor. No bid proposal shall be accepted after the time stated for receiving bid proposals in this notice. Sealed envelopes containing contractor's bid proposals must prominently display the bid # and project name, name and address of the firm, and the contractor's Alabama license number with the date of renewal on the front of the envelope. These requirements shall not be waived. The Contractor is hereby advised that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE on this project. The Contract Time for this project is 230 consecutive calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed if the time limit is exceeded. The Contractor may apply for an extension of time in accordance with the provisions of the Contract; however, such an extension must be approved prior to the Contract Completion Date to avoid the imposition of liquidated damages. The city of hoover hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises (DBES) will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, gender, religion, age, disability, marital status or national origin in consideration for an award.
