Description

The work for which proposals are invited consists of the construction of a new park. The Owner and/or Engineer will not be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Engineer. Proposals will only be accepted from bidders who have purchased the Contract Documents from Mote & Associates, Inc. and are registered as a planholder. Each Bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio. Each Proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the Proposal and all persons interested therein. Each Bidder must submit evidence of its experience on projects of similar size and complexity and a complete list of all subcontractors. This meeting is not mandatory, but is strongly encouraged. State of Ohio Fund 7031 or 7035 monies are being used to assist in the construction of this project. All relevant state requirements will apply to this contract. DOMESTIC STEEL USE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE APPLY TO THIS PROJECT. COPIES OF SECTION 153.011 OF THE REVISED CODE CAN BE OBTAINED FROM THE OFFICE OF THE OHIO FACILITIES CONSTRUCTION COMMISSION. The Village of Gratis reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the bidding, and to enter into a contract with the bidder whom in their consideration offered the lowest and best proposal. GENERAL Installation of a half basketball court that is a 50’ X 42’ cast-in-place concrete slab with one Bison, Heavy Duty basketball goal with backboard. The basketball court shall be completed no later than July 1, 2022. The successful bidder is required to include labor, equipment, materials (unless noted otherwise), shipping, warranties, and all other necessities to complete the following work: ? The exact location where the half basketball court will be constructed shall be coordinated with the owner prior to commencing work. See attached drawing for general layout and quantities. ? Basketball goal post will be provided by the Owner, installed by the Contractor. ? All steel reinforcement shall be 60 grade and have a minimum 2” concrete cover. ? All concrete shall be 4000 PSI, at 28-day minimum. ? All walking surfaces shall have a non-skid float finish. ? All exposed concrete surfaces shall receive a curing compound directly after finish like Dayton Superior, Clear Resin Cure J11W or approved equal. ? Remove sod and topsoil to 8” below top of proposed slab elevation. Any soil not necessary for regrading the site shall be removed from the site at the Contractor’s expense. Coordinate dump location with the Village prior to turning in a bid. Costs for removal, hauling and disposal of top soil shall be included in the proposal. ? Install (1) 24” Ø min. diameter X 60” deep cast-in-place concrete goal post foundation with a #4 reinforcement bar cage with bars @ 10” O.C. horizontal and vertical, form the top 4” of the foundation to a 24” X 24” square, install the goal post per the manufacturer’s written instructions with the rim at 10’ above finished court elevation and apply a non-skid float finish to the top, flush with the proposed edge of court elevation. The goal post shall be a Bison, heavy duty goal post with 4 1/2” diameter O.D. galvanized upright, 4’ safe play area, 35 1/2” X 54” aluminum, fan style backboard with graffiti resistant coating, heavy duty anti-whip net and heavy-duty break-away rim, provided by the owner installed by the contractor. ? Compact the sub-base per ODOT 204 specifications and install a minimum 4” ODOT 304 or 411 aggregate base per ODOT requirements. ? Install 1/2” expansion joint material to the perimeter of the goal post foundation where it meets the slab. ? Install a 50’ wide X 42’ long X 4” thick cast-in-place concrete slab reinforced with #3 reinforcing bars @ 16” O.C. each way centered in the slab. The back edge of the slab shall be constructed to extend 48” past the front side of the goal post backboard. ? The basketball court shall be constructed to have no more than 2% slope from the center of the court to the outside edges splitting the 50’ dimension. ? The concrete slab shall have control joints cut a minimum of 1” deep to control cracking. The control joints shall be cut no less than 10’ in each direction. Coordinate control joint layout with the Village prior to placement. ? The finished floor elevation of the slab shall be no higher than 1/2” above the finished grade of the adjacent perimeter. ? All areas disturbed during the construction process shall be regraded to create positive drainage to local drainage systems, prepared for seeding, and seeded and mulched per ODOT 659 specifications ? The contractor is NOT required to install court markings. ? The contractor shall warrant materials and work for a period of one year. Warranty period shall begin upon approval of final pay application for the work described herein. Scope of Work: Bidder shall complete the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents and construction plans and will contract to do all the work and furnish all the tools, labor, and materials called for by said plans and specifications for the construction of the Bicentennial Park and related appurtenances for a lump sum price that will exclude the following: 1) Basketball goal and delivery to site by Village of Gratis. 2) Charcoal grill and delivery to site by Village of Gratis. 3) Playset, swing, border, rubber mulch and delivery to site by Village of Gratis. The material items listed above will be provided to the project through the Owner and shall not be included in the Lump Sum Base Bid amount. Any coordination, incidentals and/or equipment necessary for the use and/or installation of the provided material(s) will be the responsibility of the Bidder and any associated cost shall be included in the Lump Sum Base Bid
