Runway 9R/27L and Associated Paved Runway Shoulders

The connector taxiways north of Runway 9R-27L will also be rehabilitated, removed, or new taxiways constructed, including edge lighting systems. The project is needed due to the aged and deteriorating condition of existing pavements and lighting systems, as well as the need to improve aircraft traffic flow on the connector taxiways between Runway 9R-27L and Runway 9L-27R. Construction is expected to start in late April 2021 and be completed within 85 calendar days. A summary of the proposed improvements includes: •Runway 9R/27L pavement rehabilitation •Runway 9R/27L shoulder pavement rehabilitation •Runway and taxiway edge lighting replacement •Taxiway pavement rehabilitation expansion •Taxiway removals •Taxiway construction During construction, runway use and flight patterns will be modified. The proposed project will result in some aircraft being diverted from the primary runway (Runway 9R/27L) to the parallel runway (Runway 9L/27R).
