Refurbish / Replace Heat Recovery Wheel 1 at the Nantucket High School

Contractor shall supply all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform services and properly dispose of all accumulated debris for Refurbish / Replace Energy Recovery Wheel #1 Nantucket Public Schools (NPS) is soliciting proposals to replace or refurbish an existing Wing Heat Recovery Wheel at the Nantucket High School. The existing heat recovery wheel (HRW) is a Wing Model WEC-4770, installed in 1987. The original scheduled performance was 25,000 cfm, with a face velocity of 500 fpm, an operational efficiency of 45%, and a .55” pressure drop. The low operational efficiency is due to exhaust and supply air moving through the energy wheel in the same direction (parallel flow). The wheel is currently sensible only. This HRW supplies outside air to two Heating and Ventilation units (HV-5 & 6). The scheduled outside air for these two HV units totals 10,000 cfm minimum and about 25000 cfm maximum during economizer operation. The exhaust for the HRW is from the locker / shower rooms (EF-6A) and totals about 11,000 cfm.
