Description | The work for which bids are to be received consists of: Work shall include but not be limited to installation of all architectural, electrical and controls, mechanical, plumbing, process, site, and structural items associated with construction of the new Wansford Yard open wet well lift station and building with initial capacity of 20 MGD, upgradable to an ultimate capacity of 25 MGD. This includes: influent box with electrical actuated slide gates, two (2) influent channels with mechanical bar screens and effluent electrical actuated slide gates, baffle chamber, wet well with four (4) submersible 160 HP pumps; valve vault with air release, check, plug, surge relief valves and flow meter; odor control unit; 24" and 30" force mains; 24" and 48" gravity sewers; detention pond and stormwater piping; connections to new or existing piping; sanitary sewer manholes; storm water structures; installation of waterline and hydrant; rehabilitation of aerial sewer connected to Little Pigeon Creek Bridge on Pfeiffer Road; demolition of Pfeiffer Lift Station, interceptor and force main; final connection of flow from Pfeiffer Lift Station to new interceptor; building with rooms for dumpsters, electrical equipment, screens and office with bathroom; new site fencing with electrical gate; installation of conduit and pull boxes for WOW fiber installation,; and all associated work at the Wansford Yard lift station as shown on the Drawings and Specifications. Work shall also include all supervision, equipment, traffic control, granular backfill, pavement restoration (milling included), flushing, disinfecting, testing, and all appurtenances necessary to complete the work shown in the Drawings and the Specifications. All work must be ready for satisfactory and continuous operation, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications. The above referenced project description includes items that are part of the Itemized Base Bid. The Contractor shall be responsible for all work shown on the plans and described in the specifications pertaining to the Itemized Base Bid, regardless of the installation method chosen. Any contract or contracts awarded under this Advertisement for Bids is expected to be funded by a State Revolving Fund (SRF) Loan from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, administered by the Indiana Finance Authority (IFA). The Contractor to whom the work is awarded shall comply with all requirements of said agencies. Where conflict exists between this specification and the federal agency specifications, the more stringent shall apply. Neither the United States nor any of its departments, agencies, or employees is or will be a party to this Advertisement for Bids or any resulting contract. This procedure will be subject to all requirements of said agencies. The SRF program has participation goals for minority (MBE), and women-owned (WBE) business enterprises. As this project is funded by the SRF, the Contractor is expected to comply with all applicable MBE/WBE participation requirements. The Contractor is required to show a positive effort for MBE/WBE solicitation. Contractors and subcontractors are required to pay in accordance with Davis-Bacon requirements. Wage rates on the project shall not be less than the federal wage scale published by the U.S. Department of Labor available on the day of bid. Information explaining other prevailing wage laws which apply to this work is also contained in these specifications. The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder (or bidders), all to the advantage of the Evansville Water and Sewer Utility, or to reject all Proposals. If drop box is locked, approximately 40 minutes prior to the scheduled meeting, the bid will only be accepted by an EWSU staff member in the scheduled meeting room prior to the scheduled meeting time Questions will be received until March 29, 2022 and the final addendum will be issued on March 31, 2022. |
