Description | The project includes the construction of approximately 184 new water services where existing services are determined to be Lead Service Lines as defined by Michigan's Lead and Copper Rule. The work includes installation of a new water services and connection of the new water service to existing watermain and structure piping 18 inches inside the structure. These services are located on numerous streets throughout the Village of Elberta. The project also includes approximately 530 feet of watermain to be installed on Lincoln Avenue along with associated water services and SCADA improvements to the water supply system. Removal and restoration work will include asphalt removal and paving, concrete removal and paving, concrete sidewalk and ramp removal and replacement, gravel driveways, curb and gutter removal and replacement, topsoil and seeding and all related work. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. The Village of Elberta reserves the right to accept any bid, reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and make the award in any manner deemed in the best interest of the Village of Elberta. |
