Description

The scope of work includes the modernization of two (2) elevators and the maintenance of three (3) elevators and one (1) wheel chair life. The awarded contractor shall provide interim, warranty and post warranty maintenance, which shall include a specified number of preventative maintenance visits and agreed upon labor rates for work outside the scope of the maintenance services. Washington County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities. Washington County is not bound to accept the low bid. A. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond, separate Labor and Material Payment Bond, and Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder. B. Bid Guaranty: Bidder shall furnish a Bid Guaranty, in the form prescribed in Sections 153.54, 153.57, and 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the form of either: (1) a bond for the full amount of the Base Bid plus the amount of all Add Alternates included in the Bidder's bid, in the form of the Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond included in the Contract Documents (Section 00 61 13); or (2) a certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit in a form satisfactory to the Owner in an amount equal to 10% of the bid. Bid amount shall be the total of all sums bid, including all add alternatives, but excluding all deduct alternatives. NOTE: AIA or EJCDC Bid Bond forms are not acceptable. C. Contract Bond: The successful Bidder, who, as a Bid Guaranty, submits a certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid, shall deliver it to 223 Putnam Street Marietta, OH 45750. Furnish a Contract Bond in the form included in the Bid Documents (Section 00 61 13) in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Sum. NOTE: AIA or EJCDC Bond forms are not acceptable. D. A Maintenance Bond: The successful Bidder, who, as a Bid Guaranty, submits a certified check, cashier's check, or irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid, shall deliver it to 845 County House Lane Marietta, OH 45750. The maintenance bond shall remain effect for the duration of the warranty period and the three-year service period. In the event the awarded bidder goes out of business, defaults on the terms & conditions of the agreement or fails to meet the scope of work requirements Washington County Home will have the ability to enforce the maintenance bond.
