Furnish Brewerton WWTP Chlorine Contact Valve Replacement

The scope of work for this project will include the replacement of two (2) six inch gate valves located on the six inch ductile iron drain lines from the Chlorine Contact Tank including excavation, shoring, valve replacement, backfilling, compaction and restoration of surfaces. Work involves the removal of two leaking 6-inch gate valves and installation of two 6-inch resilient wedge gate valves on six inch ductile iron (6” D.I.) drain lines leading downstream of an active chlorine contact tank. One valve is located approximately three feet north of the tank and the other is three feet south of the tank directly in the center of the tank in the east and west direction. Both valves are easily located by the above grade valve boxes. Installation shall include excavation down to the valves plus six inches (6”) for bedding. Based on the tank measurements the valve is assumed to be at a depth of 12’6” +/- six inches. Excavations shall be shored in accordance with OSHA regulations as necessary to obtain proper depth. Dewatering including pumps, hoses, fuel shall be included. Coordinate sump pump discharge location with County Inspector.
