Description

The Shelby County Board of Education will accept written proposals for: County Board of Education (COE) and Barnes Cooling Tower Replacements . Replace existing condenser tower pumps (2) and 1 system pump between the boilers with new starters with both. Questions or requests for clarification of technical issues and terms pertaining to this Bid must be submitted in writing via e-mail to LaQueeya Braxton at braxtonl@scsk12.org or LaJuanna Jones-Sulton at jonessultonlm@scsk12.org, by October 5, 2022 @ 2:00 PM CST PERFORMANCE AND LABOR BOND: The successful Bidder(s) will be required to submit a performance and/or labor bond, Cashier's or Certified Check in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total estimated contract amount for each individual school location, as determined by SCBE and specified in the IFB, to ensure the satisfactory completion of the work for which a contract or purchase order is awarded that exceeds $100K. SCBE has set a Minority or Woman-owned Business Enterprises goal for Administrative Building (COE) 9.1% and Barnes Building 9.1% for this project, Administration Building (COE): 1. Replace exiting cooling tower for Administration building. 2. New tower to have more than one DD fan per cell with gantry for motor removal. 3. Provide new VFDs for tower fans on the roof and mount and wire a spare VFD for each fan. 4. Provide manual isolation valves in each pipe. 5. Install isolation valves in equalizer lines. 6. Replace both condenser water pumps. 7. All outside piping to be heat traced and weather/waterproof with metal jacket. 8. Replace three-way control valve in the mechanical room. 9. Building is to be in operation with minimal and coordinated down time. 10. Contractor is to install temporary hookups as needed for the condenser pipe. 11. Connect all controls to Siemens BAS server. 12. Demo and remove existing towers and piping as needed. 13. Installation shall follow latest local building codes. 14. Install P/T ports and drain valves in each pipe. 15. Modify Electrical as needed. 16. Tag each pipe with direction of flow. 17. Provide water balance report Barnes Building: 1. Replace exiting cooling tower for Barns building. 2. New tower to have DD fan with gantry for motor removal. 3. Provide new VFDs for tower fans on the roof and mount and wire a spare VFD for each fan. 4. Provide manual isolation valves in each pipe. 5.
