Description

Scope: The project includes proposing a new 8 MGD facility with the capacity to high rate the filtration and pumping to 12 MGD with minimal construction. The Raw Water Pumping Station would be initially constructed to pump and convey 8 MGD with expansion for Raw Water Storage in the future. The influent structure and low head dam will be rehabilitated. A raw water line would be constructed to convey 8 MGD from the raw water intake to the water treatment plant. The new WTP shall include all necessary physiochemical processes to provide high quality potable water, meeting primary drinking water standards and all regulations set forth by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). This project will also include a Utilities Building separate from the WTP Administration Building to provide office and meeting space for Public Works Staff and Support Buildings as well as a laydown yard for equipment. Currently this project will be funded by municipal bonds, however there is potential for additional funding sources that will have specific material and labor requirements.
