Description

Various planting. Propagation of Prosopis glandulosa, Populus fremontiii, Salix goodingii, and Sporobolus airoides from seed. -Propogate Salix exigua, Baccharis sarothroides, and Baccharis salicifolia from cuttings. -Ability to collect seed, cuttings, or both for establishment of up to 200,000 plants. -Greenhouse capable of housing up to 1,000,000 plugs and 50,000 potted (minimum 4x4) plants. -Greenhouse facility must have controlled environment (heat, light, moisture), rolling benches, shade system, and high intensity discharge lighting. -Experience propagating from seed or cutting the following species: Anemopsis californicus (yerba mansa), Atriplex canescens (fourwing saltbush), Atriplex lentiformis (quailbush), Atriplex polycarpa (cattle saltbush) , Baccharis salicifolia (mulefat), Baccharis sarothroides (desert broom), Bouteloua gracilis (blue grama), Distichlis spicata (saltgrass), Eleocharis palustris (common spikerush), Festuca arizonica (Arizona fescue), Muhlenbergia asperifolia (scratchgrass), Panicum urvilleanum (desert panicgrass), Paspalum distichum , Pluchea sericea (Knotgrass), Pluches odorata (arrowweed), Populus fremontii (Fremont cottonwood), Prosopis glandulosa (honey mesquite), Salicornia L (pickleweed), Salix exigua (coyote willow), Salix gooddingi (Gooding`s willow), Schoenoplectus californicus (California bulrush), Schoenoplectus americanus (Scirpus olneyi) (Chairmaker`s bulrush(three square bulrush)), Scirpus tabernaemontani (softstem bulrush), Sporobolus airoides (alkali sacaton) -Access to shipping containers that protect the plantings from the environment (wind, rain, etc) to the planting site -Contractor must own or have access to a planter or similar machine capable of planting transplants or plantings at 1 foot in-line spacing and at a width of a minimum of 38 inch rows -Experience hand plant plugs, potted plants, or both. -Experience perform planting operation in adverse conditions: hand planting in shallow water, remote locations, in temperatures exceeding 100°F, and working during nighttime hours -Past success with planting 150,000 trees in a single event with greater than 90% survival.
