Description | The Freedom Wall Walk project base bid work includes exterior sidewalk and curb replacement, and hardscape improvements in front of the Freedom Wall, as well as constructing overhead lighting over each wall panel. Bids will be accepted either in offline (paper) or online (electronic) versions. Offline bids should be submitted in an opaque sealed envelope to the Engineering Branch on the 7th floor of the MTC. The lower left-hand corner should be marked as follows: BID NO. E-578. Online bids should be submitted in accordance with the process outlined on the NFTA's Engineering Branch. The Contract Documents may be examined in the 7th Floor Conference Room, 181 Ellicott Street, Buffalo, New York 14203 or on the NFTA's Engineering Branch website at www.nftaengineering.com. Online registration is required to become a Plan Holder and obtain Contract Documents. The Contract Documents may be picked up or sent via courier billed to the requester. The NFTA reserves the right to waive irregularities, to reject any or all bids and to extend the bidding period. Bid security must accompany each bid and must be in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid price if the base bid exceeds $50,000.00. Bid security may be submitted prior to bid opening either electronically utilizing Surety2000 at portal, or delivered to the NFTA in an opaque sealed envelope. Details for electronic submission are provided on the NFTA's Engineering Branch website. In the event a bidder utilizes an offline bid but provides bid security electronically the electronic bid bond number must be submitted with the offline bid. The Contractor shall perform not less than 10% of the Work with its own forces. The time of completion for the project is 81 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages in the amount of $720 per calendar day will be assessed against the Contractor for its failure to complete the project within the time specified. |
