Description | Proposals may be hand delivered and/or sent by overnight courier (e.g. FedEx, UPS, etc.) to the City's Public Works address . Mailed proposals should arrive at least one business day prior to bid opening so proposals can be filed at the Office of the Director of Public Works. All bid proposals are to be made on the forms provided and will be made a part of the contract documents to be executed with the City. Bid proposals are to be received in a sealed 9"x12" or 10"x13' envelope. The envelope shall be marked: "Sealed Bid - 2022 SIDEWALK AND CURB MAINTENANCE PROGRAM", and the name of the bidder. The program consists of over 8,000 square feet of intermittent removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk located throughout the City. The program also may include the installation of detectable warning panels, intermittent curb and gutter removal and replacement, PCC stair steps replacement, PCC driveway pavement, landscape restoration, and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the project as shown on the Plans. All quantities will be used in determining the lowest responsible bidder. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the bid. Bid bond shall be in the form of a bid bond (IDOT form 12230 or equal), certified check or cashier's check drawn on a responsible bank doing business in the United States and shall be made payable to the City of West Chicago. All bids not accompanied by a bid deposit will be rejected. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid after the scheduled closing time for a period of ninety (90) days. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any informality in any bid proposal, to re-advertise the proposed services, and to accept the proposal most advantageous to the City. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor-Mechanical Payment Bond, both in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount as a security for the faithful performance of this contract and as a security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract, respectively. The City of West Chicago requires all Contractors bidding on Public Works projects and all of their Subcontractors to be governed by the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.
